Several objects were damaged by rocket fragments – Kyiv RMA about shelling on December 31

On December 31, on New Year’s Eve, air defenses destroyed six Russian cruise missiles within Kyiv region.

This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi.

As the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces specified, the Orlan-10 drone was also eliminated on the territory of the region, which during the missile attack tried to identify the positions of the Ukrainian air defense.

Updated at 5:21 p.m. For more than three hours, the repulse of the enemy attack, according to preliminary data, passed without casualties.

However, several civilian objects were damaged by fragments of enemy shells.

– The terrorist state once again demonstrates its cynicism. Even on the eve of the New Year, it continues to launch massive rocket attacks, – emphasizes the head of the regional military administration Oleksiy Kuleba.

The head of the RMA states: Kyiv region and the capital remain the main target of the occupiers.

– But we understand: Russia is firing missiles, because it knows that for us it is the New Year, and for them it is the last. Today, as every day, our military did the impossible. Thanks to the air defense forces, – noted Oleksiy Kuleba.

Currently, all services are working in the areas of repelling enemy attacks.

– Enemy reconnaissance UAVs are operating in the airspace of Kyiv, – says the message of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

Updated at 1:45 p.m. Information about the work of air defense in Kyiv and the region has already been confirmed in the city and regional military administrations.

According to military correspondent Andrii Tsaplienko, one enemy missile has already been destroyed on the approach to Kyiv.

– Not only air defense, but also mobile groups and aviation are working, – emphasizes Andrii Tsaplienko.

Note that on December 31, Russia launched a massive missile attack on civilian objects in Ukraine.

According to preliminary information, the occupiers launched more than 20 air-launched cruise missiles from Tu-95ms strategic bombers (from the Caspian Sea) and ground-based missile systems.

Anti-aircraft defense destroyed 12 cruise missiles:

six – within Kyiv region,
five – within Zhytomyr region,
one – within Khmelnytskyi region.
