Russians plan to simultaneously attack from two directions in 2023 – intelligence forecast
In 2023, the Russians plan to continue trying to conduct offensive operations in Ukraine. They can simultaneously go on the offensive from the North or East.
This forecast was made by the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Andrii Cherniak.
– According to the military intelligence of Ukraine, the Russians will continue to try to conduct offensive operations next year. They failed to achieve their goal in any of the directions. They understand that they are losing, but they do not plan to end the war, – RBC-Ukraine quoted Chernyak.
According to him, currently the intelligence can not predict on which territories the Russians plan to attack.
Among the possibilities that are being considered is the fact that the Russian army can simultaneously leave from the East or the North.
However, he stressed that currently there are no necessary means for a new offensive in Belarus.
– Such actions of the enemy are expected, and our troops are ready for it, – said the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
He admitted that the Russians will try to hold the land corridor to the illegally annexed Crimean peninsula and capture the entire Donetsk region.
However, he believes that they will not be able to force the Dnipro River to recapture Kherson.
– According to the military intelligence of Ukraine, over the next 4-5 months the Russian army may lose up to 70 thousand people. And the leadership of the occupying country is ready for such losses,” Chernyak said.
Earlier, the former commander of the Polish Land Forces, General Waldemar Skrzypczak predicted that the first quarter of 2023 will be a turning point in the war between Ukraine and Russia – Kyiv will win, and there can be no concessions for Moscow.
