Zelenskyy promised to expand National Security and Defense Council sanctions against Russians supporting the war

Ukraine’s sanctions imposed by the NSDC decision aim to isolate all Russians who support or glorify the war.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during his evening address following the results of January 7.
– I once again congratulate everyone who celebrates Merry Christmas today. On this day, which has already become historic for Ukraine, for the spiritual independence of our people. I was glad to see how many people, how many of our warriors, came to the service of God in the temple of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. This holy place is one of the origins of Ukrainian cultural tradition, – he said.
The President emphasized that it was very important that a sincere prayer for Ukraine had been and still is heard in the monastery and that no one would make Ukrainian alien in the monastery.
– Ukrainian independence must be strong in all its elements and will be so. Always. We are ensuring this. And it is very important to preserve the mood that was felt today. The mood of joy from the strengthening of Ukraine and the achievement of historical justice, – he said.
Zelenskyy wished all Ukrainians to have this mood more often.
He informed that today, after the regular meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, he had signed decrees on the implementation of the NSDC decisions.
– Firstly, we have approved the general plan of work of the NSDC this year. The main priority is to secure our independence and strengthen our ability to defend ourselves – by all necessary steps and means that will work.
Secondly, there is the interim outcome of the work on the many Russian nationals and associated individuals who justify war, help wage it, or glorify the terrorist state. Today, there is the first such sanctions list – there will be further decisions on sanctions against such persons, – the Ukrainian leader said.
The President emphasized that everyone “whose voice sounds in unison with the roar of Russian artillery” would be isolated from the civilized world.
– And, by the way, the world has once again seen how false any words of any level coming from Moscow are. They said something about an alleged ceasefire… But the reality is Russian shells that again hit Bakhmut and other Ukrainian positions, – he said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy pointed out that on January 7, it was once again confirmed that only the expulsion of Russian occupiers from Ukrainian land and the elimination of any opportunities for Russia to put pressure on Ukraine and the whole of Europe would mean the restoration of silence, security, and peace.
