No additional successes of Russia will be able to change the course of the war – State Department
Heavy fighting for Soledar, during which the occupying forces suffer heavy losses, is still ongoing. The representative of the US State Department, Ned Price, emphasized that the temporary successes achieved by Russia on the battlefield cannot change the course of the war.
– We haven’t heard for a long time that the Russian forces were able to at least claim an additional advance, despite heavy losses. Ukrainian forces with their counteroffensive, which began last year, were extremely effective in stopping the offensive, they pushed back the Russian troops, recaptured thousands of square miles of territory,- the representative of the State Department noted.
The American agency believes that the battle will continue and that both sides will continue to attack and suffer casualties.
– But no additional successes of Russia, even those that have to be paid for with such great losses, personnel and equipment, will never be able to change the course of the war. No amount of tactical advancement can correct the strategic failure faced by President Putin, – Ned Price concluded.
