This destroyed the illusion of security in the Kremlin: Budanov on Ukraine’s agents inside Russia
The head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, told WP that Ukraine has agents working inside Russia, and this has destroyed the illusion of security that the Kremlin had previously felt.
He did not confirm that his special forces were behind the strikes on the strategic bomber sites that Russia used to attack Ukrainian cities, but said he expected more and that Ukraine had agents working inside Russia.
– This destroyed their illusion of security. There are people who plant explosives. There are drones. Until the territorial integrity of Ukraine is restored, there will be problems inside Russia,” Budanov warned.
He also suggested that the Kremlin should be wary of collaborators in its midst.
– “There are indeed people with whom it is very easy to work in this territory, people who understand that Russia should be different. And we support such people,” he said.
The outlet added, citing Budanov’s “inner circle,” that there have been at least 10 assassination attempts on his life – in 2019, for example, a bomb was planted under his car, which was prematurely detonated.
