Tragedy in Brovary: examinations are not yet completed, versions remain the same – Klymenko

Acting Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said on Wednesday, February 1, that the examinations in the case of the plane crash in Brovary have not yet been completed. He added that the versions of the events remain unchanged, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs is following the instructions of the SBU and the State Bureau of Investigation as part of the investigation.
– Our investigators and operatives are part of the group, and of course, we have provided all the information we have to the investigation,” Klymenko said.
According to him, Interior Ministry officials, together with SBU operatives and investigators, worked in the first days after the tragedy to inspect the crash site.
– We examined and checked a huge amount of information. This included video cameras and citizens who testified to the crash in one way or another… Of course, we hope and are interested in the investigation being completed as soon as possible and in finding out the causes of the crash,” the acting minister emphasized.
He also commented on the investigative actions of former Interior Minister Arsen Avakov regarding the SES helicopters: according to him, “there are relevant criminal proceedings, so law enforcement agencies are doing their job.”
When asked whether Interior Ministry employees were being checked in connection with the version of a possible sabotage, he answered evasively that orders from the State Bureau of Investigation and the Security Service of Ukraine were being fulfilled, without specifying which orders.
– We are still waiting for the examination. I think the examinations will give the investigation answers to the questions we are facing… All the versions that have been voiced remain working,” Klymenko said.
As a reminder, on January 18, a State Emergency Service helicopter crashed near a kindergarten in Brovary. It was carrying the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denys Monastyrsky, his first deputy Yevhen Yenin, and State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Yuriy Lubkovych. All of them were killed.
In total, 14 people died, including one child, and 25 people were injured, including 11 children.
