The US is inclined to transfer longer-range missiles and fighter jets to Ukraine – McCaul
In Washington, they are leaning towards sending Kyiv longer-range ATACMS missiles and F-16 fighter jets, which are requested by the Ukrainian authorities.
This statement was made by Republican congressman Michael McCaul in Kyiv, as reported by Reuters. According to him, the National Security Council and Joe Biden’s administration have not yet reached a common point of view on “what weapons and how quickly” Ukraine needs to be supplied, whose government relies on F-16 fighter jets and long-range ATACMS missiles.
– However, there is an increase in artillery and aircraft support – the congressman noted.
McCaul said that during the meeting, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy handed him a list of the required weapons. It had F-16 fighter jets and ATACMS missile systems, which he said could “fly to Crimea” to destroy Iranian drones.
