Bakhmut will be the last frontier for Wagner, where they could show something – Cherevatiy
The enemy’s inability to achieve strategic success in the Bakhmut sector leads to conflicts between Wagner’s PMC and the army.
This was reported by the spokesperson for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Cherevaty, on the air of the United News.
– “It is precisely their (the enemy’s – Ed.) inability to achieve strategic success, to break through our defense system, to cause irreparable damage to our defense that breaks their morale, plus we see that there is friction between them, there are quarrels between Wagner’s PMC and the active army. And this is also a clear marker that we were doing everything right, gradually knocking out the potential. This will be the last frontier for the so-called Wagner PMC, where it could show something,” he said.
In addition, he noted, “as long as there is an opportunity to annoy the enemy, to knock out its personnel, to knock out its morale, its combat capabilities, Ukraine will do it.
– I think that due to its (Bakhmut’s – Ed.) symbolism, a lot of attention will be focused on it. And in fact, from an operational point of view, it is not that valuable. It’s just that this is our land, we are defending every meter of it, and as long as we have the opportunity to annoy the enemy, to knock out their personnel, to knock out their morale, their combat capabilities, we are doing it. If there is a need to retreat, as we did, for example, in Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Soledar, we did it, inflicting incredible losses on the enemy,” noted Cherevatiy.
He reminded that after Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk, the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated the entire Kharkiv region, without 1.5%, and de-occupied the Lyman.
– “Therefore, it is more important how we use the overall situation, and the overall situation is that they have not been able to take a settlement for more than seven months, and our troops are doing a heroic thing – knocking out the enemy’s potential to make it easier for their brothers… to throw the enemy off our land forever,” he said.
“At the same time, the enemy has sent its best units to fight in this area and is concentrating artillery fire to the maximum.
– In particular, over the last day, about 130 attacks were made by various artillery systems, both cannon and MLRS, at our positions in the Bakhmut sector. Bakhmut has already become symbolic from many points of view, and for us it is an absolute symbol of our struggle, resilience, and heroism. For the Russians, it is a breakdown of their myth about the second army of the world and about PMCs,” the spokesman said.
