Bashar al-Assad is on the list: Zelenskyy imposed sanctions against 300 individuals

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has supported introducing sanctions against 300 individuals and 141 legal entities.
The corresponding decree No. 163 of March 18 was published on the official website of the President of Ukraine.
With this document, Zelenskyy put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose personal special economic and other sanctions.
The list of individuals against whom the sanctions are imposed includes a Syrian citizen, Bashar Hafez al-Assad, born on 11.11.1965. This is probably the Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, but according to public records, he was born on September 11, 1965.
In addition, the list includes Syrian Prime Minister Hussein Arnouf and Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Mikdad.
Among the 300 individuals on the sanctions list, three are Syrian nationals, seven are Iranian, and the rest are Russian.
The sanctions were imposed for ten years. They include asset freezes, restrictions on trade, transit, and transportation through the territory of Ukraine, prevention of capital outflows from Ukraine, revocation of licenses, a ban on privatization and purchase of land, and a ban on the transfer of technology and intellectual property rights.
Among the 141 legal entities are 16 Iranian companies, including Shahed Aviation Industries Company and Shahed Aviation Industries Research Center. These are manufacturers of military helicopters and Shahed drones, which Russia is using to attack the territory of Ukraine.
Two more companies on the list are based in the United Arab Emirates, and the rest are Russian (from mechanical engineering, military plants, and research and production enterprises).
Sanctions against the companies were also imposed for ten years.
In early March, Volodymyr Zelenskyy enacted the National Security and Defense Council’s decision to sanction 120 individuals and 287 legal entities. The sanctioned entities include betting companies and lotteries from Russia.
And in late February, Volodymyr Zelenskyy imposed sanctions against the daughter of Wagner PMC head Yevhen Prigozhin, Russian athletes, and several other individuals and legal entities from Russia.
