The positional war in urban area continues: Cherevaty talked about the battles in Bakhmut
The occupiers are actively fighting in the Lyman-Bakhmut direction, and a positional war is going on in the city of Bakhmut, the situation is constantly changing.
Serhiy Cherevaty, the spokesman of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this on the air of the national telethon.
According to him, half of Bakhmut is controlled by the Defense Forces of Ukraine and half by the Russian invaders, street battles continue in the city.
In the Bakhmut direction, 302 shellings from various types of artillery were recorded during the day. The occupiers shelled the city of Bakhmut 101 times.
– There is a positional war and the situation is constantly changing, depending on fire damage. Enemies can capture a house, but after our heavy defeat on them, the occupiers can withdraw, and our servicemen can take these positions. Sometimes the enemy succeeds in some actions. Battles in urban buildings are one of the most difficult types of combat, – Cherevaty emphasized.
During the day, 19 combat clashes took place in Bakhmut, 71 occupiers were eliminated, 88 were wounded.
