Russia’s attempts to destroy Ukraine’s energy system have failed – British intelligence

The Russian campaign to destroy Ukraine’s unified energy system in the winter of 2022-2023 has failed.
The UK Ministry of Defense reported this on Twitter.
It is noted that Russia has been carrying out severe strikes since October 2022, but since the beginning of March 2023, large-scale attacks have become rare. Smaller-scale attacks (up to 25 carriers) continue, but, likely, they will not affect the system.

According to British intelligence, Ukrainian grid companies continue to purchase transformers and other critical components for replacement. The transportation and installation of these components is a major logistical challenge, especially the high-voltage transformers, which weigh at least 100 tons.
– The energy situation in Ukraine is likely to improve with the arrival of warmer weather. Planning and preparations for the next winter have probably already begun, – the ministry said.
