From Melitopol to Berdiansk: occupiers dug a 70 km long mega-trench in Zaporizhzhia

A large trench over 70 km long was dug by the occupiers in the Zaporizhzhia region.

The Center reported this for Investigative Journalism based on the study of Sentinel-2 satellite images.

The extreme points of this fortification are: in the west – on the outskirts of the village of Semenivka (about 9 km from the center of Melitopol), in the east – in a field outside the village of Marynivka, Prymorsky district, northwest of Berdiansk.

– The occupiers started digging the trench simultaneously from two directions, and as of October 18, the mega-trench was ready. Its continuous length reaches 70 kilometers, – the statement said.

For comparison: the length of this defense line of 70 km is almost a third of the length of the Zaporizhzhia region from east to west (205 km). It is approximately equal to the distance, for example, from Kherson to Mykolaiv or Vienna to Bratislava.
