Family of Russian military intelligence agents to spend 15 years behind bars – SBU

The SBU has collected evidence of the guilt of two more traitors who passed intelligence on the locations of the Defense Forces in the Bakhmut sector to the occupiers.
This was reported by the press service of the Security Service.
It is noted that both enemy accomplices were detained in December last year during counter-sabotage activities in the frontline areas of Donetsk region. The court sentenced them to 15 years in prison.
The perpetrators are a married couple from the town of Chasiv Yar. The husband had previously served a sentence for participating in illegal armed groups of the so-called “DPR”.
Last summer, the couple remotely contacted the deputy commander of the Russian reconnaissance battalion Sparta, who took part in hostilities on the eastern front. In correspondence with him, the traitors offered their assistance in the war against Ukraine.
On the instructions of the aggressor, they collected information about the possible locations and movements of Ukrainian defenders along the front line. First of all, they tried to find warehouses with weapons and ammunition for Ukrainian troops.
The Russian agents passed the information they received to the occupiers through a network of Russian military intelligence “liaisons” in the occupied part of Donetsk region. They used closed chats in messengers to communicate.
Based on the evidence collected, the court found both aggressor’s accomplices guilty under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
