Ukraine is watching the events in Russia’s Belgorod region with interest, but has nothing to do with it.

This was stated by Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, on Twitter.

– “The only driving political force in a totalitarian country of tightened screws is always a guerrilla movement with weapons in hand,” he wrote.

According to Podolyak, Ukraine is watching the events taking place in the neighbouring region of the Russian Federation and studying the situation.

Podolyak also joked that “tanks are sold in any Russian military store” and added that underground guerrilla groups consist of Russian citizens.

Ukraine’s military intelligence confirmed that RDC fighters are conducting operations in Russia. GUR spokesperson Andriy Yusov said that actions were being taken to create a “security strip”. He also emphasised that only Russian citizens are conducting the operation.
