Occupants try to break through Ukrainian defences to capture Kupyansk-Syrskyi

Russian occupants are trying to break through the defences of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to capture Kupiansk in Kharkiv region.
This was announced by the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, following the results of work in the units that are defending the outskirts of the city.
– “The enemy is trying to break through the defences of our troops with assault units, manned mainly by prisoners, on a daily basis, in different directions, with the aim of blocking and then capturing Kupyansk. Following the results of work with commanders in this area, a number of important decisions were made that will ensure the reliability of defence,” said Syryskyi.
“In the Liman sector, the Russian army is regrouping, replacing units that have lost their combat capability, and is not abandoning plans for new offensives.
The situation in the Bakhmut sector is difficult but under control.
The enemy is counterattacking, mining, intensively shelling and using aircraft. However, even under such conditions, Ukrainian troops are gradually advancing.
– With the brigade commanders fighting in the Bakhmut sector, we discussed topical issues of increasing the effectiveness of offensive actions, fire damage to the enemy and a number of other measures aimed at achieving victory over the enemy,” informed Colonel General Syrsky.
Syrskyi also presented Ukrainian servicemen with awards and valuable gifts for their successes during the combat operations.
