SBU drone Sea Kid shoots down Russian missile ship Samum
The SBU’s experimental SeaBaby surface drone hit the Russian missile ship Samum near Sevastopol Bay.
According to a source in the Security Service of Ukraine, on 14 September, the drone hit the rear right side of the enemy vessel, causing significant damage and causing the ship to lose its momentum.
The Russians had to tow the Samum for repairs with a large differential to the stern and a roll to starboard.
To attack the enemy ship, the SBU used an experimental model of a marine drone that can operate in a storm, hiding from detection behind high waves.
During the special operation, the waves were 1.5-2 metres high.
On 14 September, the Russian Ministry of Defence announced an “unsuccessful attack” by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Samum missile ship.
As a reminder, yesterday the Ukrainian Defence Forces attacked two Russian patrol ships of the Vasily Bykov type.
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ StratCom Telegram channel, the enemy vessels were damaged.
