Danilov: US will provide Ukraine with additional air defense systems, but they will not be enough to close the sky
The United States will provide Ukraine with additional air defense equipment, but it will not be enough to cover the entire sky over the country.
This was stated by NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov, commenting on the results of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s meeting with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
He noted that the issue of air defense for Ukraine was one of the main issues during Zelenskyy’s meeting with the Pentagon chief, and there will “definitely be news on this.”
– Additional air defense will be supplied to our country. Will this be enough for us to close the entire territory of our country? Unfortunately, I can say today that it will not. That’s why our president, our ambassadors who are on the territory of partner countries, everyone involved in this issue are working 24 hours a day to close this issue,” Danilov said.
According to the NSDC Secretary, every aid package from the United States includes a part of air defense.
– However, these are not only the systems that carry out the destruction, but also the missiles that need to be used to carry out the destruction. That is why we have hardly ever had a case when the United States did not directly provide air defense assistance in its packages,” Danilov added.
