The Armed Forces of Ukraine are testing the Marichka underwater drone: what is known about the UAV
The military showed how they test the Ukrainian-made Marichka underwater drone.
The video shows how the drone is lowered into the water and prepared to go on a test mission.
The developers emphasize: the Marichka drone is capable of destroying landing ships, boats, submarines, missile carriers, coastal fortifications and bridge supports at a distance of more than 1,000 km.
What is known about the features of the Marichka drone
Security
No crew – no casualties among personnel.
Obscurity
The underwater drone is invisible to many radars, echo sounders, and scanners.
Autonomy
The Marichka drone can be in standby mode for a long time and can be started according to a timer or a signal to perform a task.
Range
It can cover distances of more than 1,000 km
Transport volume
Due to its large enough dimensions – 6 m in length and 1 m in diameter – Marichka can carry a large charge of substances for damage.
Multifunctionality
The drone can be used as a combat, cargo or reconnaissance drone.
Efficiency
Marichka is capable of hitting not only surface targets, but also coastal fortifications and bridge supports.
We would like to remind you that the Sea Malyuk drone, which is a unique invention of the Security Service of Ukraine, has been helping to liberate Ukrainian territories for some time.
This is partly reflected in the name of the BpLA (the head of Ukraine’s Security Service has the last name Malyuk, – Ed.).
It was these drones that successfully hit the Crimean Bridge on July 17, the large amphibious assault ship Olenegorsky Gornyak on August 4, and the SIG tanker on August 5.
