The situation in the South remains tense despite the fact that the Russian occupiers have switched to economy mode in terms of shelling.

This was reported by Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, during a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center.

– “The total number of attacks from the left bank on the right bank is currently at 60-70, slightly decreasing day by day. The use of shells remains at the level of 300-400. This is also not the highest level, as there were many more shells used earlier. Now we are seeing a certain economy mode in their use,” said Humeniuk.

According to her, it is too early to talk about the overall lack of shells among the Russians, but it is certain that the destruction of enemy logistics and field posts by the Defense Forces has had an impact.

At the same time, the situation in the South remains quite tense. The invaders are trying to exert pressure by intensifying the dropping of fragmentation munitions from UAVs.

Among other things, enemy tactical aviation continues to be active in the direction of Zmeinyi Island over the Black Sea. Humeniuk added that where the Russians cannot be active on the sea, they are trying to compensate from the air.

Also, the Defense Forces have been noticing reconnaissance drones, which may indicate the preparation of further attacks.
