President Zelenskyy believes that the world is in a situation where a world war could break out on any continent
About a week ago, Russian troops resumed their offensive in the Liman-Kupyansk sector, but not along the entire contact line. The intensity of air strikes has also increased significantly.
This was stated by Ilya Yevlash, spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, on the air of the Yedynyi Novyny telethon.
– “Of course, the enemy cannot afford to attack along 140 kilometers at once. He is focusing his attention near Sinkivka and Ivanivka in Kharkiv region, as well as in the area of Makiivka,” said Yevlash.
According to him, earlier the occupants tried to advance near Novoyehorivka, but significant losses incurred by the Ukrainian Defense Forces forced them to abandon their plans.
– For some time we have been observing a kind of lull. And now, about a week ago, they began to resume offensive actions. At first, it was short isolated incidents, mostly involving Storm-Z and Storm units. Now we are seeing more serious incidents,” noted the spokesman.
Yevlash noted that the main goal of the enemy remains the capture of Kupyansk, as there is a railroad there and it is a rather important logistics hub in this area.
– The next goal is to break through the land corridor and disengage our forces to the Oskil River. However, the enemy may change its emphasis as the weather is deteriorating,” summarized the spokesman.
The full-scale war in Ukraine has been going on for 595 days.
