Dykyi: We can say that Ukrainian troops have liberated Krynky in Kherson region

Ukrainian troops are holding Avdiivka, which is actually the second Azovstal for the Defense Forces, and the occupiers’ assaults have not succeeded there since 2014.
And on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson region, where Ukrainian troops landed, the village of Krynky was taken under control.
This was stated by Yevhen Dykyi, former platoon commander of the Aidar battalion and ATO veteran, on the air of the national telethon of the United News.
Situation near Avdiivka
Commenting on the situation in Avdiivka, Dykyi called the enemy’s attempts to attack “desperate” and the fortified area around the city itself one of the “strongest nuts of our defense.”
According to him, back in 2014, the Russians were stopped along the demarcation line in the Avdiivka industrial zone.
– “This is the only section of the old demarcation line that was formed in 2014 and has not moved… And this is no accident. Avdiivka industrial zone is a powerful fortress that was built as an industrial facility, which was built to withstand enemy air strikes and much more. It is similar to Azovstal. It has a similar industrial zone. But since 2014, we have been fortifying it, so it is an industrial zone that is protected by military fortifications,” he explained.
Yevhen Dykyi points out that, unlike Bakhmut, the Avdiivka industrial zone can indeed be called a fortress, and the frontal assaults of the occupiers can be described as in the joke: “What a shameful suicide.”
The former military man assures that Russia does not have the resources to realize its offensive potential near Avdiivka.
– This does not mean that it is easy for our defenders there. There is constant bombardment from the sky using KAB-500 planning bombs. The 500 in the name is the weight. One of these bombs is the entirety of a nine-story building. Fortunately, such bombs are very inaccurate, with an arrival accuracy of +- half a kilometer. This is a problem, first of all, for the civilian population and for the city. The city is actually being demolished bit by bit. But it is not easy to hit a military object directly with such a bomb,” he explains.
The situation on the flanks of Avdiivka
At the same time, the situation on the flanks, where the Russians are making advances, is a bit more complicated.
– On the southern and northern flanks, they are indeed making progress. In particular, they are now three kilometers away from the road that connects Avdiivka with the rear. In war, three kilometers is not significant, as not only long-range artillery but also banal mortars are already flying at this distance. In fact, they shoot through the road, which complicates logistics,” explains Yevhen Dykyi.
But despite this, there is no serious threat at the moment, as there is not only good fortification, but also good supplies, the military assures.
– Even in the case of encirclement, there is enough of everything, from food to ammunition. But we are not talking about encirclement yet,” he said.
Control of Krynky village and other areas
In the Kupyansk-Lyman sector, the occupiers continue to try to advance, but to no avail.
At the same time, the Ukrainian side continues its offensive near Zaporizhzhia, albeit at a very slow pace, as the enemy has concentrated large-scale forces there to repel this offensive, Dykyi points out.
– The events that give some hope, although we should be careful with these hopes, are the left bank of the Kherson region. There is a desperate struggle for this foothold that our marines have captured. The fight is so intense that even mechanized units can move there,” he explained.
He also commented on the information provided by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) about the village of Krynky on the advance of the Defense Forces in Kherson region, where, according to ISW, there were battles for this settlement.
Yevhen Dykyi argues that today we can say that Ukrainian troops have de-occupied the village of Krynky in southern Ukraine.
– “Since ISW provides information with a one-day delay, as of today we can say that Krynky are already ours,” he said.
It should be noted that the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has not yet confirmed the information about the liberation of the village of Krynky in Kherson region.
He assures that if the frontline is sufficiently expanded, it will be possible to bring mechanized troops into the Russian rear in Kherson region, and “the entire defense system” of the Russians will break down.
The transportation of military equipment to the left bank of the Dnipro will be possible with the use of barges, Dykyi said.
As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the occupiers’ losses in manpower exceeded 300 thousand the day before.
