Zelenskyy: We will try to show results this year and we have a plan for 2024
Ukraine’s political and military leadership have a plan to conduct military operations through 2024.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking via video link at the Reuters Next conference on Wednesday.
According to him, they will try to demonstrate the results this year.
– “We will try to show the result this year. And it is very important for us because we are losing people every day. Fewer than Russians is good news, but people is very bad news,” he said.
Zelenskyy noted that “we have some steps forward in the South of our country. We also have progress in the East, and some, I think, good steps are near the Kherson region. I am confident that we will be successful.”
The Ukrainian Head of State reminded that the slow decision-making by Ukraine’s partners on the supply of weapons had led to the fact that the occupiers had time to mine the occupied territories.
– “We waited for ammunition for seven months and Russia used this time to mine everything,” he said.
The Head of State added that Ukraine also had a plan for the next year.
– “Yes, we have a plan for the next year, we are trying to plan it, but I will not share it,” Zelenskyy said.
In addition, the President of Ukraine also commented on the skepticism about Ukraine’s prospects in some circles in the West.
According to him, a number of Republicans in the U.S. Congress are causing concern in Kyiv. In addition, according to President Zelenskyy, some Western leaders believe that Ukraine has little chance of winning because its population is smaller than Russia’s.
