Defence Intelligence confirms that prisoner exchange with Russia was to take place today
A prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine was to take place on Wednesday, January 24.
A representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Andriy Yusov, said this in a commentary to Radio Liberty.
– “But I can state that the exchange planned for today is not taking place,” he said.
Could the prisoners of war have been on board the IL-76?
According to Yusov, the information voiced by the Russian side that prisoners of war could have been on the IL-76 plane that crashed in the Belgorod region is currently being checked.

On January 24, a Russian military transport aircraft, an IL-76, crashed in the Korocha district of Belgorod region.
According to the Russian media, there were allegedly 65 prisoners, three accompanying persons and six crew members on board.
However, this version is questionable, as prisoners of war are not transported by airplanes. In addition, judging by the photos, there are no signs of scattered bodies on the field.
But the version about the transportation of S-300 anti-aircraft corrected missiles on board the plane is not unfounded.
