Zelenskyi on the production of drones and ammunition: We are adding positions, development of new weapons continues
Ukraine is increasing its defense production, adding new positions, and developing new weapons.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi in his evening video address following the 706th day of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.
– “Domestic production of drones, shells, and equipment is literally the production of Ukrainians’ freedom. In a full-scale war, strength is the basis of freedom. The production of long-range drones is one of the key tasks for the defense industry,” the Head of State said.
Negotiations with the President of Finland
Volodymyr Zelenskyi held talks with the President of Finland. He noted that it was a very warm conversation. The Head of State thanked him for supporting Ukraine, our people and defense.
– He noted how much Finland has done for its own security and Europe – historic things. We have a meaningful bilateral cooperation – the largest one since Ukraine gained independence.
The Presidents of Ukraine and Finland emphasized the importance for the states and all partners to remain principled in their relations in European and Euro-Atlantic structures regarding our region and the eastern flank of Europe.
Meeting with Rasmussen
President of Ukraine met with Anders Fogh Rasmussen. Since 2022, he has been heading an international advisory group together with the Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak that will provide proposals on security guarantees for Ukraine.
– We are working together on a new security architecture that Ukraine, the whole of Europe, and the Euro-Atlantic need. Rasmussen, with his experience as NATO Secretary General, helped Ukraine with a system of security guarantees: the philosophy and possible framework began to be developed in the expert group headed by Rasmussen and Yermak,” Zelenskyi said.
According to him, Ukraine now has a community of 32 states that have joined the Group of Seven declaration on security guarantees, as well as the first bilateral agreement with the UK. The President announced that there will be new agreements as well.
– We are now finalizing the text of several documents. This is very important work. Rasmussen presented plans to set up a new international working group to deal with Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration.
Approaching our country’s full membership in NATO is a constant priority. We are gradually realizing it, the President of Ukraine emphasized.
