How capturing air defense operations in photos and videos helps the enemy: Ignat’s explanation
Yuriy Ignat, the spokesman of the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, explained how every picture of the work of the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces can become a source of information for the Russian Federation.
– The enemy already has enough means of intelligence… but when we help with those pictures, those comments, it’s all analyzed. Every picture, every video can become a source of information for the occupier, – he emphasized.
Ignat also explained how the mechanism for detecting the location of air defense systems works.
– I explain with words, with my fingers. We have missiles, air defense is working somewhere there. One person shoots from the lowest point, from the second – the second, from the third point – the third. This is called a three-coordinate coincidence of parallels. In this way, it is possible to determine exactly where the Patriot launcher is and strike again, – said the speaker.
He recalled the story of CCTV cameras that were turned on during an air raid, stressing that this is not acceptable at all, because it is real-time filming that can be very damaging.
At the same time, he noted that videos of air defense operations, shot by the Air Force and foreigners, are carefully checked before publication.
– We know that it is possible. Verify your video. Let’s see if there is anything extra there, and publish it. If it shows the detonation of a missile in the air, that is, the interception of an air target – then why not. We have to show our partners that their weapons work, that they are effective, that we shoot down missiles, – concluded the spokesman of the Air Force.
