There will be a million UAVs for sure: Fedorov on drone production and creation of Ukrainian Lancet

Ukraine is preparing to expand the production of unmanned aerial vehicles, in particular by producing drones similar to the Russian Lancet UAV.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov in an interview with Forbes.
According to him, today the Army of Drones project is transforming from a brand into an institution.
– This is a continuation of the project. Our faith and support for UAVs and military-tech have led to the fact that specific actions are turning into a separate branch of the military. This is one of the most important decisions in recent times,” he said.
Fedorov chose not to disclose the details of the project, but said that “everything will be great.”
– Now it will affect the volume of production. This organizational structure will collect feedback from the entire battlefield in real time. Production will definitely increase. Compared to last year, it has actually increased 120 times. We are actively signing contracts. We will definitely produce a million UAVs. I won’t comment on the types and kinds. This is sensitive information,” he said.
The Minister of Digital Transformation emphasized that it is important to launch companies that produce samples of Ukrainian Lancets.
– “We have a large number of copters within a radius of 20 km. However, we need to hit targets at a distance of up to 40 km. Lancet drones are quite high-tech,” he explained.
Mykhailo Fedorov says it took six months to accelerate the market in this direction.
– “We are currently testing products. In the coming weeks, the fate of contracts for Lancet drones will be decided. We already have combat applications, but they are still few and far between. It is difficult for me to give specific dates. Within two months, information about how Russian tanks are burning will start appearing in their publics,” he said.
Earlier, it was reported that a Perun UAV was being developed, which was supposed to be an analog of Russian Lancet drones. It is not yet known whether Fedorov was talking about Perun drones or other drones.
