Zelenskyy awarded Zaluzhnyi the title of Hero of Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi.

– For outstanding personal merits in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decree: To confer the title of Hero of Ukraine with the awarding of the Order of the Gold Star to General Zaluzhnyi Valerii Fedorovych, – the decree reads.
Resignation of Zaluzhnyi
On February 8, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy introduced changes to the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valerii Zaluzhnyi was dismissed , and Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi was appointed in his place.
At the same time, the head of state noted that he appreciates the experience and professionalism of Zaluzhnyi, so he invited him to continue working in the same team.
