The Russian Federation can still try to expand its offensive in Kharkiv region or Sumy region, since it still has forces that are not involved in the war against Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed by the head of the Center for Military and Legal Research Oleksandr Musienko on the air of the telethon.
The offensive of the Russian Federation in the Kharkiv region: is expansion possible?
According to Musienko, the fact that Russian propaganda is now trying to create panic and inflame the situation is inherent in any offensive campaign of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, he believes that there are certain threats and risks that no one rejects. That is why President Volodymyr Zelenskyy canceled business trips and international visits.
– Challenges and threats must be adequately assessed. They still remain for the Kharkiv region today, because despite the fact that the Ukrainian troops manage to stabilize the situation, and there really is no need to panic, it is possible that the enemy may try to expand its offensive in the Kharkiv region, in one or two more directions, or in Sumy region, – explained the expert.
He noted that “such scenarios have not yet been removed from the agenda by the enemy, because all troops, such as the Sever group, have not yet been deployed.”
– That is, the intensification of these hostilities is possible, that is why our forces are preparing, that is why there is a warning, a frank conversation and a discussion of all the challenges and threats that exist, without exaggerating or underestimating them, but saying it as it is, – concluded the expert.
The other day, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, noted that after the occupiers began their offensive in the north of the Kharkiv region, there are threats to the Sumy region as well .
