We need serious players: Zelenskyy named probable guarantors of Ukraine’s security

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the United Kingdom, the United States, Italy and Turkey had announced their readiness to become Ukraine’s security guarantors. At the same time, there is no final answer from anyone yet.
– Today, those who show that they are ready – we do not have signatories yet, but there is a demonstration – from Johnson, from Britain, from the United States, from Italy, from Turkey. I think separately will be from the European Union,” the head of state said during an interview with Ukrainian journalists.
Zelenskyy added that we need individual countries on which the sanctions policy really depends, and which are ready to provide Ukraine with any weapons within 24 hours.
– So far we have not received a specific list of those guarantees or countries that are ready to be fully involved for you. We don’t need 40 countries of the world that are ready on cue, on a call, on an agreement to step in and fight for Ukraine. We need serious players who are willing to do anything. We need a circle of states ready to provide any weapon within 24 hours,” said the president.
The head of state hopes that a meeting with the advisers of the guarantor countries may take place in the near future.
It should be added that security guarantees mean that Ukraine will be ready to fix its status as a non-nuclear and non-aligned state in the form of permanent neutrality, if a number of states – similar to the Article 5 of NATO – legally guarantee operative military assistance, armament and closing the sky over Ukraine. in case of military aggression, attack or any operation in front of it.
For Ukraine, this is an alternative to joining NATO and one of the conditions of the Ukrainian delegation in negotiations with Russia.
