President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy would like to end the war with Russia by diplomatic means. However, he stressed that official Kyiv will not make serious concessions.

– But to speak only on the terms of ultimatums of the Russian Federation? In this case, it is a question of attitude towards us, not of whether the dialogue will be good or bad. It is impossible, – the President emphasized.

Zelenskyy noted that the sooner such a conversation begins, the fewer people will die. However, the head of state did not rule out another option.

 – We can fight the Russian Federation for 10 years to take away what belongs to us, – Zelenskyy said in an interview with CNN’s State of the Union.

The head of state said that Russia’s attacks on Ukrainians complicate diplomatic dialogue with Russia to end the war. According to the President, the chances of success of negotiations with Russia are declining, as Ukrainian society does not want to continue the dialogue.

– The chances are decreasing every day. Think of Bucha, Volnovakha, Borodyanka, Mariupol. There comes a time when no one wants to talk. Our society does not want us to continue negotiations, – said Zelenskyy, answering questions about the prospects of negotiations with Russia.

On the other hand, in an interview with The Atlantic, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine does not want to fight for its independence for another 10 years.

– We already have 30 years of independence. I would not like us to fight for our independence for another 10 years, – Zelenskyy told reporters.

In an interview with CNN, Zelenskyy also stressed that Ukraine will not give up its territory in the East of Ukraine to end the war with Russia. He noted that the Ukrainian military is ready to fight the Russian invaders in the Donbass in a battle that, he said, could affect the course of the entire war.
