Zelenskyy signed decrees imposing sanctions against Russian oligarchs and Putin’s relatives

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed two decrees enacting sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) against dozens of Russians and Russian companies.
The relevant documents are published on the website of the President’s Office.
The sanctions lists include more than 3800 individuals and legal entities – 2507 and 1374 respectively. The decrees are dated October 19, 2022.
In particular, sanctions were imposed against:
- Suleiman Kerimov, oligarch, Russian deputy and Putin’s close associate;
- Mikhail Prokhorov, a Russian billionaire;
- Arkady Rotenberg, Russian billionaire and entrepreneur, Putin’s close associate;
- Aras Agalarov, the Azerbaijani-Russian billionaire developer;
- Eugene Kaspersky, the main owner and chairman of Kaspersky Lab;
- Roman Abramovich, Russian billionaire, businessman, former owner of the English football club Chelsea.
Another decree (No. 726/2022) enacts the NSDC decision of October 19 on the application of special economic and other restrictive measures against a number of individuals and legal entities of the Russian Federation.
Thus, the list includes Director General of the Russian First Channel Konstantin Ernst, TV presenter Tina Kandelaki, the President’s cousin Igor Putin, Russian athlete Alina Kabaeva and others.
