Oleksiy Symonenko, Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine, has written a resignation letter.

This is reported by the General Prosecutor’s Office.

Updated on January 24. Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin signed an order on the voluntary dismissal of Deputy Prosecutor General Oleksiy Symonenko from the administrative position.

Earlier, Ukrainian Pravda, citing sources in the National Security and Defense Council and law enforcement agencies, reported on the dismissal of Symonenko after the Deputy Prosecutor General’s vacation in Spain became public knowledge.

He was asked to write a resignation letter, sources said.

Recently, Sуmonenko went to Marbella (a municipality in Spain) to celebrate the New Year with his family for 10 days. This information caused outrage in Ukrainian society, especially during the martial law in Ukraine.

People’s Deputy of Ukraine Yaroslav Zheleznyak confirmed that Oleksiy Symonenko was dismissed from the post of Prosecutor General.

– Deputy Prosecutor General Oleksiy Sуmonenko was also dismissed. Closer to February, there will be at least three personnel decisions regarding the Cabinet, – Zheleznуak notes.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyу, announced new personnel decisions after high-profile corruption scandals at the beginning of this week.
