Payments of UAH 2,000, work and housing: Shmygal announced three programs for IDPs

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved three programs to help internally displaced persons who have been forced to leave their homes due to a full-scale war initiated by Russia.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal spoke about this during a video message today.
Because of the war, millions of Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes. Millions have lost their homes. This is the reality that the civilized world already sees, – he noted.
Shmygal clarified that the government will help IDPs in three main areas – money, work, housing:
1. Every internally displaced person in Ukraine will receive from the state a minimum monthly allowance of UAH 2,000. The funds will be credited through the Diya service on the bank card.
Simply via Diya on the bank card. No extra papers. Without bureaucracy. To all who moved from areas of active hostilities, – Shmygal emphasized.
In addition, UAH 3,000 will be paid for each child who was forced to move because of the war.
2. The government is also launching an employment program for internally displaced persons. Payments will be provided for those employers who hire migrants from the affected regions of Ukraine.
The amount of payments will be UAH 6,500 for each employee.
Employers will spend these funds on salaries of such workers, – Shmygal specified.
He urged entrepreneurs to start working, to hire people, since the state bears a part of the expenses for salary of the migrants.
3. Compensation for utility bills will be provided for those families who receiveinternally displaced persons. We are talking about the amount of UAH450 per month for each person who was sheltered by this or that family.
All those who responded to the trouble, provided a roof for the displaced people, provided a free shelter, will receive UAH450 per month for everyone who was helped, to compensate for utility bills, – Shmyhal stressed.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers clarified that all three programs have already been approved and their implementation will start today, on March 21.
Initially, internally displaced persons will be registered by local communities and administrative service centers. And registration through Diya will start working from March 30.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine recently decided to reimburse utility costs to the budgets of those communities that receive internally displaced persons free of charge. These include reimbursement of costs related to heating, water supply, sewerage, gas supply, purchase of firewood, pallets and coal.
