In the Ternopil region, the ammonia content in water has increased due to damage to the fertilizer tank

The missile that flew to Ternopil was shot down but part of it fell into a warehouse with mineral fertilizers. This was announced during a briefing by the Head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration Volodymyr Trush.
– The missile was shot down by our Armed Forces, air defense had worked. The consequences as such were not visible from the outside. SES services and the national police worked the whole night until noon today.
He said the missile was aimed at one of the critical infrastructures. But after it was shot down, it fell on another side where mineral fertilizers were stored.
– Considering that now sowing goes, these big tanks were empty. But it inflicted huge losses on this enterprise. As a result of the fragment of the missile hit the tank, these mineral fertilizers leaked into the soil.
According to еhe Head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, the fertilizers got into the groundwater and in the evening the ammonia content increased, so residents are asked to limit the use of drinking water from wells.
Drinking water is delivered to the village where the incident took place. The situation, according to environmentalists, should pass in 3-4 days without obvious effects on people.
