Over 70% of Irpin: how badly damaged are the cities near Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Mariupol

The United Nations Satellite Center assessed the destruction of Ukrainian cities due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
According to satellite photos from the UN Institute for Training and Research, the village of Gorenka is the most destroyed in the Kyiv region – about 77% of the settlement’s territory.
At the same time, Irpin was affected by 71%, and Hostomel – by 58%. Destruction in Bucha estimates at 26%, and the western part of Kyiv was affected by 1.4%.
In Chernihiv – by 21%, but the Mayor Vladyslav Atroshenko, after the withdrawal of Russian troops, estimated the destruction at 70%.
As of the beginning of April, about 22% of facilities in Mariupol were damaged, although the local municipal council estimated the destruction at more than 80% of the city.
As of the end of March, 4% of the city of Kharkiv was damaged, about 0.4% of Sumy, and about 0.17% of Donetsk. Russian troops are still constantly shelling Kharkiv and Mariupol.
