As of April 22, the bodies of 1,084 dead civilians were found in the Kyiv region. Among them, from 50% to 75% are people who were killed by Russian servicemen from small arms.

Andriy Nebytov, the chief of police in the Kyiv region, noted that these civilians were not part of the territorial defense or military formations.

– Now there are 1,084 dead, who were examined by investigators and taken to forensic medical institutions. These are civilians who had nothing to do with either territorial defense or other military formations, – he stressed.

Andriy Nebytov noted that most of the people were civilians killed with small arms – machine guns, sniper rifles or machine guns, depending on the locality. So far, more than 300 people have not been identified.

Watching now

For example, more than 80 people have already been found in Borodyanka, whose bodies have been sent to forensic medical institutions to determine the cause of death. This is not the final figure of the dead, as rescuers continue to dismantle the rubble.

– People are returning to their homes. Unfortunately, they find terrible things – people hastily buried, who were shot by the occupiers from automatic weapons or killed as a result of hostilities. Now investigators, together with experts, are exhuming and examining these bodies, – Andriy Nebytov noted.

The chief of police of the Kyiv region urged citizens to report information to the telephone line 102 about their missing friends and relatives who have not been in contact for a long time.
