In Sophia Kyivska, trees were hung with bells symbolizing the children killed by Russia
In Kyiv, on Memorial Day for children killed as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, trees were hung with bells on the territory of Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv. They symbolize the children’s souls whose lives were taken by the war.
– The bells symbolize the voices of at least 261 Ukrainian children that we will never hear again, the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
First Lady Olena Zelenska noted that Ukraine joined the tradition initiated by the United Nations Organization last year. Every year on June 4, Ukraine will honor the memory of children who died due to armed aggression.
– We could not have imagined how painful this day would be for us. Today there are people among us who have lost the dearest things. Any words are unnecessary now”, – convinced the First Lady of Ukraine.
Olena Zelenska called on diplomats from different countries of the world who were at the event in Kyiv to do everything possible so that the Russian army would not kill any more children in Ukraine.
