Schools in Mykolaiv have prohibited the teaching of the Russian language since September 1

The Executive Committee of the Mykolaiv City Council approved a ban on the use of the Russian language in schools in the city. This was reported by a member of the executive committee Kateryna Stokolas on her Facebook page.
– Yesterday (June 17 – Ed.), the executive committee voted for a ban on the use of the Russian language in schools in Mykolaiv belonging to the communal form of ownership,” she wrote.
According to her, as of September 1, there will be no electives, courses, junior classes with the Russian language of instruction, and the design of the educational environment in schools of the city.
The mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevich, confirmed on telemarathon United News that there would be no classes in grades 1-4 with instruction in the Russian language.
He also lifted the veil of how education in schools of Mykolaiv will be held from September 1.
According to him, if the situation until September 1 is “in the state as it is now,” the teaching will take place exclusively online.
He also stressed that schools in Mykolaiv are ready to teach online who are in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region. He specified that Mykolaiv is prepared to teach children from Kherson remotely on a confidential basis.
