Additional units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are transferred to Bakhmut and Soledar to strengthen the defense – Zelenskyy
The world saw again these days that the aggressor country, the Russian Federation, lies even when Moscow draws attention to the situation at the front with its statements.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an evening video address to the people on January 8.
– Russian shelling of Kherson with incendiary ammunition – right after Christmas. The strikes on Kramatorsk and other cities of Donbass targeted civilian objects and precisely when Moscow reported on the alleged “silence” of their army.
Another threat by Russian officials to Europe and the world… All this while there was talk of an alleged “ceasefire” in Moscow. Any attempt by Russia to manipulate diplomacy and politics will never work, – assures the head of state.
Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian soldiers are transferring additional units to Bakhmut and Soledar, intensifying fire on the Russian invaders.
– Today, the commander of the direction, General Syrsky, went around the troops defending themselves on the approaches to Bakhmut and Soledar. He awarded the fighters with awards for their resilience. On the spot, he organized the steps necessary to strengthen our defense. In particular, the transfer of additional units. And increased fire on the occupiers.
The President is convinced that only strengthening, success, restoration of territorial integrity, the return of all Ukrainians from Russian captivity and the victory of Ukraine are guarantees of restoring peace. Zelenskyy assures that Ukraine is getting closer to the liberation of all territories every day.
– Heavy fighting continues in Luhansk region and Donetsk region – every hot spot in these areas is well known. Bakhmut holds on, despite everything. And although most of the city was destroyed by Russian strikes, our soldiers repel constant attempts of Russian offensives there.
Soledar holds on. Although there is even more destruction there and it is very difficult… There is not such a piece of land near these two cities, on which the occupier would not give his life for the crazy ideas of the masters of the Russian regime. This is one of the bloodiest places on the front, – Zelenskyy notes.
