The situation is very tough, constant Russian assaults continue: Zelenskyy about the battles in the Donetsk region
In Bakhmut, Vugledar and other directions in the Donetsk region, the situation remains very tough due to constant Russian assaults.
The Russian army is constantly trying to break through the defense of Ukrainian soldiers, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video message on January 29.
– The enemy does not count people and, despite his numerous losses, maintains a high intensity of attacks. In some of its wars, Russia generally lost less than it lost there, in particular, under Bakhmut, – the head of state notes.
In Zelenskyy’s opinion, this can only be countered by extreme stability and full understanding that Ukrainian soldiers protect the whole of Ukraine, preventing the occupiers from breaking through in the Donetsk direction.
The president assures that the military leadership is doing everything to ensure that Ukrainian pressure still outweighs the offensive capabilities of the occupiers.
– And it is very important to maintain the dynamics of defense support from our partners. The speed of delivery was and will be one of the key factors in this war,- Zelenskyy believes.
According to him, Russia hopes to prolong the war, exhaust the forces of Ukrainian soldiers, therefore we need to make time our weapon: to speed up events, supply and discovery of new necessary weapons options for Ukraine.
This week, Ukraine has strong defense results in relations with the USA, Germany, Poland, Canada, Belgium, Norway, Italy and other countries. The President emphasizes that the next week must be made no less strong for Ukrainian defense.
