Will the Armed Forces of Ukraine be able to repeat the scenario of the Kharkiv counteroffensive: the explanation of a military expert
The counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the temporarily occupied territories may last for several months – at least one or two.
Military expert Oleg Zhdanov predicts such a development. He assumes that the Armed Forces will not be able to repeat the scenario that took place in the Kharkiv region during the spring counteroffensive due to the density of Russian troops.
– The Kharkiv operation may be repeated, but in a different way. I can definitely say that it is probably very difficult to repeat the speed of the advance, as in the Kharkiv operation. Why? The density of troops is quite high.
At that time, there were approximately 120,000-150,000 soldiers on the territory of Ukraine, including losses. Even taking into account the fact that the Russian northern group was transferred to the east, the density of troops then was four times lower than now, – the analyst claims.
According to a military expert, the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can make a deep maneuverable breakthrough, but the speed of the Kharkiv operation should not be counted on.
However, he does not rule out that such a development is possible. Zhdanov suggests that the counteroffensive may last for several months.
