In the near future, Patriot and other air defense systems will arrive in Ukraine – Ignat
Patriot and Samp-T anti-aircraft missile complexes designed to protect the sky from Russian attacks should arrive in Ukraine in the near future.
This was stated by the spokesman of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuriy Ignat, on the air of the national information telethon.
– Patriot and Samp-T should arrive in Ukraine in the near future. It was announced that our specialists will study for two months. We expect them to appear, – he said.
The US Army adopted the Patriot air defense system in the early 1980s. Its latest modification, called PAC-3, is intended for defeating and intercepting targets at an altitude of up to 24 km.
The main feature of the latest modification of the Patriot air defense system is its ability to shoot down ballistic missiles that pose a great threat to the civilian population.
The anti-missile defense system SAMP/T is designed to protect the battlefield and important facilities, including airports and seaports from cruise missiles, drones and tactical ballistic missiles.
