An offensive is underway on four fronts simultaneously: Malyar on battles in Donbass

Fierce fighting continues in the Maryinka, Lyman, Avdiivka and Bakhmut sectors. The Russian army is trying to attack and advance further into the territory of Ukraine, but the enemy is not succeeding in achieving its goals.
This was stated by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Malyar on the air of the national information telethon United News.
– “We operate with the information we have from the General Staff, operational and strategic groups fighting at the frontlines, and the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. Today, the trend of events is that the epicenter of hostilities remains in the east. And the enemy is advancing in several directions there, not only in the Bakhmut sector. The offensive is underway simultaneously in four directions: Maryinka, Lyman, Avdiivka and Bakhmut.
I must say that fierce fighting is taking place almost everywhere, especially in Maryinka and Avdiivka. It is very hot there. And we discuss Bakhmut all the time – it is indeed very hot. I must say that the enemy is not succeeding in achieving its goals in the Liman, Avdiivka and Maryinka sectors, but the fighting is very hot. As for Bakhmut and the Bakhmut sector, not only the city but also the suburbs are involved in fighting,” she said.
The Deputy Minister of Defense noted that an information war is underway. She also commented on the leak of alleged classified documents in the Pentagon.
– We must realize that modern warfare is primarily an information war. And we must be prepared for any kind of information injection, information and psychological operations, so we must treat any information critically, check it, look for the source. The only reliable information about the course of hostilities and the plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can only come from official sources.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief – the President – as well as the Minister of Defense and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces can officially speak about the war. Then the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense as institutions – those who are legally authorized to speak about the war and be the primary source – and the press officers of the Armed Forces. The plans are kept secret. Any discussions are obviously someone’s assumptions, so they should be taken as such,” believes Malyar.
