A month of occupation, hell and torture: what is happening in the suburbs of the capital of Ukraine

The curfew lasts in all liberated settlements of the Kyiv region until the morning of April 5. Areas liberated from Russian troops are being demined and cleared of invaders.

It is forbidden to go outside, people are asked not to try to enter their hometowns and villages because it is dangerous, but the exception was made only for journalists.

The bridge over the Irpin River was blown up and abandoned Russian equipment and the bodies of Rosguard soldiers who set foot on Ukrainian soil and died are on the streets.

After failing to attack Kyiv, the invaders staged terror in the suburbs of the capital. Hostomel, Irpin, Bucha experienced a month of occupation, hell and torture from Russian invaders.

What we saw after the liberation of the capital’s suburbs shocked the whole world. The bodies of peaceful unarmed people are on the streets of Bucha. Some with their hands tied were beaten to death by Russian troops.

In one of the basements was a room for the interrogation of Ukrainians and in the next room were five murdered civilians with their hands tied and their heads shot.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov directly calls the Russian troops fascists.

– These are ordinary rashists-fascists and these are non-humans. In this century, humanity will see the new Nuremberg Trials. It will take place either in The Hague or in Kharkiv or in Bucha or in Irpin. In person or in absentia, but we will get them, I tell you as a lawyer, – he said.

At the same time, after the terror, locals meet Ukrainian soldiers. Children in the streets shout “Glory to Ukraine!”and parents ask the Ukrainian military not to go anywhere because it was difficult to survive a month of the bombing.

Currently, there is no gas, water and electricity in Bucha. Locals cook over a campfire. Some stayed at home because of the presence of pets and the occupiers grabbed the men on the street.

The family, which survived the occupation, tells of the atrocities of racist inhumans.

– Our friend was placed in front of the tank in the first days of the war, blindfolded, tied his hands, put on the tank and went on the attack. Peaceful boys, children aged 17-18, – says a local resident Dina.

78-year-old Myroslava carries rations to a lonely neighbor. People gathered and shared food. Yes, thus survived.

The Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky urges residents not to return home yet because a round-the-clock curfew lasts in the liberated cities of the Kyiv Region.

– You see how many explosive devices are left here, shells did not explode, therefore it is necessary to wait a little more. In order for the whole complex to be carried out, safe conditions are created, all the victims will be identified, – says Oleksandr Syrsky.

The Minister of Defense presented the defenders of Kyiv with well-deserved awards which took place at a symbolic place – the airfield in Hostomel.
