The scenario failed: Lahuta about the Kremlin’s desire to annex the Kherson region to Russia

Anna Kuznetsova, a deputy speaker of the Russian State Duma, came to temporarily occupied Kherson. The head of the Kherson regional military administration, Gennadiy Laguta, explained on the air of a Ukrainian news telethon what the purpose of this visit was.

– The same as the officials of the Russian Federation – to make a “picture”. They visited an orphanage, hung many flags of the Russian Federation and made a “humanitarian picture”, saying that they care, donate food and medicine, will not leave anyone and will help. We know how they care. When they arrived in the developing peaceful area at 5:00 am, they created a humanitarian catastrophe in the Kherson region. No “pictures” on television for one minute will replace the realities the locals found themselves.

British intelligence and the American Institute for the Study War suggest that pro-Kremlin mercenaries will try to include the Kherson region in the Russian Federation, as they did with the occupied Crimea. The head of the RMA assessed the possibility of such a scenario.

– About a month ago, in the occupied territory of the Kherson area, Russian mercenaries began to collect actively data of locals. It was in all directions. They demanded from the employees of Ukrposhta, the Pension Fund, and social services in each territorial community. They were not fascinated then – they were interested in official data. Then they even started issuing humanitarian aid only with a passport. It came to the point that passport data were recorded at each checkpoint.

There is information that they are preparing a pseudo-referendum, and they need it to organize it. After all, everyone understands perfectly well that the free will of local residents is the Kherson region of Ukraine. People want to return to their former beautiful life in a thriving agricultural area with two seas and large forests. The occupiers want to record the data, organize a pseudo-referendum and say, they say, people wanted. But this scenario failed, – the head of the Kherson RMA is convinced.
