In Chernihiv, as a result of the detonation of ammunition on September 3, a total of 15 people were injured, including eight children and seven adults. According to current information, two children and two adults remain in hospitals.
This was announced by the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, on the air of an information telethon.
He said that the detonation of ammunition took place at a children’s event, during which the availability of weapons and the presence of the military were not planned. Now the witnesses of the incident and all possible participants are being interviewed, investigators are investigating the course of events.
– There was an appeal from a public organization: holding a peaceful event with children’s play activities. There was no indication that there would be any display of military weaponry or military presence. The State Bureau of Investigation receives all the necessary information, – Chaus noted.
In his opinion, it is worth finding out the answers to two main questions: why were military personnel present at a peaceful event for children and for what reasons were they carrying combat weapons. The head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration said that the investigation is ongoing.
In Chernihiv, several children were injured as a result of a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher that went off suddenly on September 3. For unknown reasons, the ammunition was on display at an interactive event for children.
