Explosions in Shostka and Konotop on May 22: what is known

Watching now

After the explosions in Shostka and Konotop on May 22, electricity and water supply began to disappear in a number of settlements in the Sumy region.

In particular, due to an enemy attack, the regional center also stopped receiving electricity. As a result, problems with water also began in Sumy, as the operation of water intakes was disrupted.

Due to the enemy attack, the movement of trolleybuses in the city was stopped, and only self-driving vehicles entered the city routes.

As reported in the morning in the regional military administration, during enemy shelling, air defense forces eliminated seven Shaheds over the region.

In particular, only the Shostkin community was attacked by five drones.

Despite repelling the attack, the mayor of Shostka Mykola Noga notes, the energy supply system suffered critical destruction.

Energy workers are working on recovery after the shelling.

Currently, the whole community is still without electricity and water.

Backup power plants are involved in the water supply system.

Power supply in Shostka is planned to be restored in the coming hours.

Meanwhile, the Invincibility Points are working in the city.

Meanwhile, it is known that electricity supply has already been restored in Sumy, Romen and Okhtyr districts.

It should be noted that in total, 24 Shaheds were involved in today’s drone attack by the Russian troops.

All of them were landed by air defense within Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Sumy and Odesa regions.

We will remind that the Russian army attacked Konotop on May 21.

Then Russian troops launched a missile attack on the city’s industrial infrastructure.
