On December 5, the European Union’s embargo on the export of Russian oil by sea, as well as the ceiling on the price of Russian oil transported by sea at $60 per barrel, comes into force. It was agreed on Friday by the EU, the G7 countries and Australia.
The decision was taken to prevent Russia from benefiting from its aggressive war against Ukraine, but at the same time it is aimed at maintaining the stability of world energy markets and minimizing the negative economic consequences of the Russian invasion.
We will remind you that the European Commission has prepared a new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation, which can be adopted within a week.
