The USA is concerned about the possible plans of the Russian Federation for Moldova

The USA is “deeply concerned” by the reports of the Russian Federation’s plans to destabilize the situation in Moldova.
This was reported by US Deputy Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried in an interview with Radio Liberty.
– I think that we – all of us – are too familiar with the Russian scenario. We have seen what Russia has done in many places, including Moldova, including Ukraine, including Georgia. The list goes on, – she said.
According to Donfried, the US is “in very close contact with our Moldovan partners at this critical time, and we strongly support the leadership of Moldovan President Maia Sandu.”
She also noted that Moldova is in a vulnerable geographical position, given Russia’s war against neighboring Ukraine and the situation in Transnistria, where the Russian Federation maintains troops.
On February 13, the president of Moldova, Maya Sandu, said that Russia plans to organize a coup d’état in Moldova. This plan involves sabotage, hostage-taking and attacks on government buildings.
