The EU has increased by €3.5 billion the fund that finances the supply of weapons to Ukraine

Today, the European Council has decided to increase the overall financial ceiling of the European Peace Fund, which is also used for military assistance to Ukraine, by 3.5 billion euros.
This is stated on the website of the European Council.
With today’s replenishment, the total financial ceiling of the fund is now more than 12 billion euros.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell noted that this decision will provide funding to continue providing concrete military support to the armed forces of partners.
According to him, this is the second increase in funding for the European Peace Facility since its creation in 2021.
– “This decision sends a clear political signal of the EU’s continued commitment to provide military support to Ukraine and other partners,” the statement said.
Earlier, an increase of €3.5 billion in the European Peace Fund was approved by the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the EU.
